The Peace Lab was founded in 2022 by four former co-presidents of Brown War Watch, a leading peace and anti-war student group on the Brown University campus. Brown War Watch was a prominent voice on the Brown campus and in the Rhode Island peace community between 2017 and 2022.
We organized weekly discussion meetings, scholarly panels, film screenings, protests, community-based legislation, teach-ins, and lectures among other activities. These initiatives explored myriad ignored and/or underserved discussions on the US military industrial complex, human rights, and foreign policy issues.
